The Christian Counseling Center and By His Wounds Ministry, will sponsor a two day retreat for veterans and first responders, sponsored by the Savings Bank of Danbury.
In 2008, a new program was created called "The Welcome Home Initiative" led by Fr. Nigel Mumford, and two other retired military men, Bishop David Bena, and Lt Col. Noel Dawes. This retreat program invited men and women of our armed services from all wars, who have served in combat, to come "free of charge" and be "Welcomed home".
This important ministry has served hundreds of veterans and their families. It also has blessed the ministry staff immeasurably with evidence of the Lord's gracious love and healing for everyone who participated.
Fr. Nigel will be present for the two days of this workshop, as we focus on bringing relief from the pain and stress of combat experiences through prayer and spiritual healing.
